Do you only repair laptops?
We repair all types of computers, from desktop PC's, to laptops and Apple Mac computers.
Can you fix my Apple Mac computer?
We are Apple Mac repair experts, we fix all types of Apple computers, including Macbook Pro’s, IMAC’s & Macbook’s
Do you provide network support services?
We provide network installation and support services for both home and small business users.
Can you replace my broken laptop screen?
We can supply and fit screens for all brands of laptop, if you have already sourced a replacement screen. we can also fit it for you.
Can my power socket be repaired onsite?
We can carry out power socket, laptop power jack & power supply repairs in-store within a short time.
My laptop power socket (power jack) is broken. Can you fix it?
We can fix laptop power sockets and pc power supplies in-store. We offer a free collection and return service.
Windows will not boot, my computer crashes on startup, will I loose my data?
We can back up your data and then reinstall your computers operating system.
Can you upgrade my computers memory (RAM) onsite?
Yes, please let us know the manufacturer of your PC or laptop, and its model number when you call.
Can you set up my wireless network and configure my laptop to connect to it?
Yes, we can assist you with all aspects of network installation and configuration. Please call our friendly helpdesk on 03 9748 0404 to discuss your requirements.
I have purchased a new machine, can you transfer my data?
We can transfer any important data from your old machine, including your music collection, photo's & documents, the length of time we require will vary dependant on exactly how much data needs to be transferred. We can carry out data transfer in-store, on-site, or at your home.
Will you back up my data before beginning the repair?
Absolutely, the safety of your data is always our number one concern.
What will happen to the data backup once my computer is repaired?
The backup will normally be deleted, but at your request we can also store your data on our secure server, we will never keep your data without prior consent.

Are your technicians able to explain the service in plain English?
Yes! Bits’n’Bytes has a rigorous selection process for all of our technicians so as to ensure, amongst other things, that all of our technicians speak fluent English. They will not confuse you with complex technical language. They can all explain even the most complicated issues in simple, plain English.
When are appointments with your technicians available?
Your computer doesn't always wait until the working week to misbehave, that's why we're on-call seven days a week! That's weekdays, weekends and evenings! Appointments are available Monday through Sunday, 8am - 8pm at your local Australian time.
What forms of payment does Bits’n’Bytes accept?
For your convenience, we accept payment by cash or credit card. At the time of booking your appointment, we will confirm your preferred payment method with you. At the end of the service, we will also email you an invoice and receipt for your records.
How do I keep from losing my data?
Computers are complicated machines and data loss is therefore always an unfortunate possibility. This is why we are so crazy about all of our customers having appropriate backup solutions in place because it's the only way to actually protect yourself from data loss. We highly recommend that you always keep a backup of your critical files so you are never at risk, however, if necessary, we can also offer back-up services before we start any work onsite.
What kind of Service Guarantees do you offer?
At Bits’n’Bytes, we are professionals to the core. Our business has been built on this commitment. We offer a No Fix No Fee which means if we can't deliver a solution, you pay nothing. However, if we diagnose a faulty component which needs to be replaced and you choose not to proceed or decide to source the parts elsewhere, normal charges do apply .We also have a 14 day work Satisfaction Guarantee where our onsite work is guaranteed for 14 days
Can I buy hardware or software from Bits’n’Bytes?
Of course! For your convenience, our technicians drive fully stocked vehicles so that they can fix most problems on the spot. If the required part isn't immediately available, we will organise it for you as soon as possible and make a return follow-up visit as part of the same service.
What if the repairs can't be completed onsite?
Sometimes, like in the instance of extensive data recovery, our computer repair services cannot be completed onsite. In this event, your technician will give you a quote for the offsite repair of your computer as well as let you know when it will be returned. You will also be kept up-to-date at all times on the progress of your repairs while it is offsite. We do ask you to sign a form, authorising the removal of your hardware to take offsite for repair.
Does Bits’n’Bytes offer training?
Absolutely! We are delighted to offer informal training no matter what your training need. Our technicians are experienced in training both individuals and groups on all facets of how to get the most out of their computer.
